About Me
I enjoy doing just about anything outdoors. I love being around horses, and riding my motorcycle. Fall and winter are my favorite seasons. There is nothing quite like an azure blue sky on a crisp autumn day or a freshly fallen snow. I prefer to measure snow in feet rather than inches, at least enough to snowshoe. The only time you will hear me complain about weather is when it's 90 and humid, uugghh. I have lived in warm climates, Greece and Florida, and managed to adapt, but definitely prefer the four seasons. Fall is my favorite for riding. But I enjoy riding anytime except when there is snow or ice on the ground.I am more of a cat person than a dog person mainly because they aren’t so high maintenance, but I love all animals. Now that I am retired, I would prefer the freedom of no pets, but I have two cool feline friends that I love.My taste in music is very eclectic depending upon my mood. It can range from Led Zepplin or Cher to Pavarotti, but if I had to choose a favorite style it would probably be Celtic. I enjoy the soothing styles of Enya or Loreena McKennitt. Having lived abroad, I have also come to appreciate music in other languages even if I can’t understand the words. The American culture has been woefully deprived, albeit mostly willingly, of exposure to the wonders from other lands. I love listening to flute and harp music or the mello sound of a cello, but I would really love to learn to play the hammered dulcimer.My taste in movies also covers a broad spectrum, but I don't like movies that portray evil or too much senseless blood and violence. I love happy endings but also value true endings even when they're not as I would like them to be. My favorite movie is "Imagine Me & You". I would like to think there is such a thing as love at first sight.My spiritual journey is rooted as a follower of Jesus which doesn't mean that I am at all in agreement with many of the values of those who identify as Christian, but have so clearly missed the point of His teachings. I believe God's love is available to all and excludes no one who desires it. I enjoy objective, deep, thought provoking conversations with people from other points of view, not so we can change each others mind, but to genuinely know and understand one another, even if we may have to at times agree to disagree.Kind, compassionate, honest to a fault, very concerned about this incredible, beautiful, diverse world in which we live. I try to be part of the solution rather than the problem and stay focused on that which I am able to change, while striving for serenity to accept that which I can't.I am confident in who I am, comfortable and content with my life, but it would be nice to have a life companion with enough similar interests to keep the passion alive and share the journey. As much as I hate labeling and qualifying, it is probably useful to say that I am most attracted to more feminine women.Good communication is essential to any relationship, whether romantic or platonic. The more similar interests and spiritual values we have in common the better, but we don't need to be twins joined at the hip.If you haven't already gotten rid of most of your baggage, you should at least be aware that you have some and be working on losing it at the airport. (smile)So lets talk and find out if we have enough in common to explore at least a friendship and then go from there if there is anywhere to go.
